JASMINE builds on shifting sands by Sanjay Desai.

Title: JASMINE builds on shifting sands
Author: Sanjay Desai

Through Jasmine's story, this book unfolds a take of success which builds on shifting sands. An alluring narration envelopes two seemingly distinct stories in an intertwined journey. The Author meets his mother who surmises the strong presence of Gopal and Subhadra are part of her tiny family. Sanjay experiences the essence of life when his mother replies with her spiritual thoughts. The Protagonist of the story Jasmine belongs to a middle class family , like any other she had the same ambition of completing a master degree abroad and then pursuing a decent job. But life never is a calculated step, she emerged herself in the model industry . Despite her initial spark, she never managed to solidify her position. Throughout the journey she earned continuous support from Saheen jaiswal, though it was reciprocal interest. Bala , a hotshot photographer, very adept at bringing out the earthiness, colors, beauty and emotional stickiness in any subject, also an important character of the story. The conversation between Jasmine and Bala is instrumental in the story, which explores the essence of success.
Here are the glimpses of their conversation
"The very fact that you subconsciously acted as a diva, is a powerful testimony to your super-emotive goal. It's very perceptive of you to realize how your subconscious has been playing. If we truly know what we want subconsciously, that's half the battle won. That brings in a lot of psychic power we need, to sustain ourselves. "

The Epilogue of the book brought in surprising elements for me, I would like to keep that part surprise for readers.
How do those two different storylines intersect or will they move parallel to each other? The story can't be grouped in typical motivational stories, here the author excellently narrated through a non fictional character 'Jasmine'.
The character of Jasmine is very relatable, with so much dream and optimism we embark our journey but few people achieve it and live in dream and few remain in despair. Chapters are kept quite short which makes it easy for a reader to go through the story. Characters are well chosen and major of them have a distinct role in story development. The language of the story is very lucid. But sometimes the story loops around the same subject which could be handled carefully. I would like to recommend the book to those who are seeking to uplift their confidence on their own.
