Title: Spice Up Your Speechifying With Light-Hearted Quotations

Author: Rajjan Shinghal
Publisher: zorbabooks

As the name suggests, this book is a collection of light-hearted quotations. Quotations play an important role in life, and can be used to enrich our speeches. Also, to apply in life to get peace of mind.
You may wonder how light-hearted quotations are different from quotations. The explanation is given in the book like below.
"Light-hearted quotations often go against received wisdom, They are based on scepticism, they cover puns and play on words, or they turn around serious quotations"
Best part about this book is every quotation is provided with the name and pseudonym of the author of the quotation, also relevant details.
If you are searching for a collection of quotes, this book is an excellent option. IT is a useful book to flip through whenever you feel like reading a quote.
Some of the quotes are:

"Both marriages were failures, Number one departed, and number two stayed." Gustav Mahler(1860-1911), Astrian musician

"Before I got married, I had six theories about bringing up children. Now I have six children, but no theories" - John Wilmot
"If an Englishman gets run down by a truck, he apologises to the truck" - Jackie Mason, American comedian.

"If you don't know where you are going, any road will take you there' - Lewis Carrol

"You respond to every question, but you do not necessarily answer it"

I liked the background given for the quote if they are having any.

Review:
The thriller mystery goes quite interesting short read. Narration pace is good, but a bit confusing in some places where the narration goes from one scene to another scene abruptly. Reader has to think to relate different parts of the book. Overall, a good book for quick thriller mystery.

The Mother of all parties by Padmini Sankar

Title: The Mother of all parties

Publisher: harpercollinsin
Author : paddersatdubai
.
'The mother of all parties' by Padmini Sankar is a delectable story and the experience of reading is equally luscious.
As the title suggests the story revolves around a party, 20th marriage anniversary of Pam and Raj, an occasion to evince the superiority and subdue the snide remarks of Honey Sarin. Pam and Honey belong to the same lavish society in Dubai but a silent competition of 'making fun of' exists. Despite of busy professional life, they never compromised any chance of social gathering and it has been beautifully depicted how those occasions turn into a source of labrish.

The anniversary is four weeks away, without wasting time Pam starts sketching the theme of the party. Pam finds herself submerged in numerous problems with each passing day. How she will make it?

The story is very relatable, it unmasks the faces who greet and complement us at each possible occasion. The priority of life defines the happiness in life it has been beautifully described in the story. The author is very ingenious and generous to inject 'a witty remark' which turns an entertaining story. There are many resources to relish in the story and the author brilliantly manages to intact the momentum throughout the narration.
